RUNNING CANAL PLANNER

There are 2 ways in which you can run Canal Planner on your PC, once that you have installed the software.

1. By clicking the 'Start' button (Vista users: this is the Windows logo button), selecting 'All Programs' (Vista users: this is the Programs menu item) from the menu, Clicking the Canal Planner menu and selecting Canal Planner.

2. During the installation a shortcut should have been placed on your desktop for Canal Planner. Double clicking this will run Canal Planner.

3. When you run Canal Planner, you may get asked whether you are sure you want to run this program. Click 'yes' if this message appears.

4. The first time you run Canal Planner, the software will attempt to communicate with our server to check for updates and messages. If you are running personal firewall software such as Norton, you are likely to receive a pop-up asking if you want to allow this application to communicate over the Internet. It is imperative that you Always Allow Canal Planner to communicate. An example of the sort of pop-up which may appear is shown below.
