MESSAGES

Messages are downloaded from our central server each time you load up Canal Planner and you have an available Internet connection.

We use the message system for a variety of reasons including:

• Notification of known problems with Canal Planner
• Notification of future updates and upgrades
• Notification of development progress on future items
• Notification of Stoppages and restrictions on the UK inland waterways*

*Note: Stoppage information is not guaranteed to be a complete list of all stoppages. Stoppage information is provided by British Waterways. Canal Planner passes this information on as a free service, but cannot be responsible for inaccurate or incomplete data.

When a new message arrives which has been un-read you will see a notification on your Quick Start Menu.

Clicking on the link will take you into the messages inbox

If you want to delete old messages tick the boxes to the left of the message subject. When you click close all ticked messages will be deleted.

When there are no un-read messages in your inbox, the link on the Quick Start Menu will not be displayed. If you want to read your messages, you can access the inbox, using the Help | Messages menu option.
