PARTITIONING A ROUTE - CHANGE OVERNIGHT STOPS MANUALLY
When a route has been automatically partitioned it is quite common that the actual locations designated as the stopping points, may need to be tweaked.
To alter the overnight stopping points, you will need to follow these steps.
Step 1
Load up your saved and auto partitioned route.

Step 2
Click the Route Options tab, and then tick the box called 'Show intermediate locations'
The Planned Route section will now increase in size as all the locations through which the route passes are displayed in the Planner Route section.

As you can see the suggested Stopping point / Moor-up point for Day 1 is Meaford Top Lk(34). However it may be that in fact you would prefer to continue on for another 43 minutes on day one to stop at the Canalside pub 'Plume of Feathers'
Step 3
To change the overnight stop from Meaford Top Lk(34) to 'Plume of Feathers', you first have to tell Canal Planner that Meaford Top Lk(34) is now no longer the overnight stop for Day 1. To do this you need to highlight Meaford Top Lk(34) but clicking it, then click the Route Section Tab.

Step 4
It is now possible to see that from the Route Section tab, that the highlighted location Meaford Top Lk(34), has a tick in the 'Moor-up overnight' box
To remove this as the overnight stop for this day, un-tick the box and click the 'Update this location' button.

If this has been successful, you should receive a confirmation message.

Step 5
You should find now that Canal Planner has removed the overnight stop, so the plan which, for example, previous was partitioned over 9 days, is now only partitioned over 8 days, and that the first day now has approximately double the hours it should. You will notice that Canal Planner still retains the original overnight stop as a section, but with <no stopping point>. This is required in order to maintain the integrity of the route.

In order to set the overnight stop, in this case as the 'Plume of Feathers', you should select the location which is to be the new overnight stop, and again click the Route Section tab.

Step 6
This time we can see that the selected location does not have a tick in the 'Moor-up overnight' box. To set this as the overnight stop, tick the 'Moor-up overnight' box and click the 'Update this location' button.

If this has been successful you should receive a confirmation message

Step 7
The route now has the 'Plume of Feathers' as the overnight stop. All miles, time and lock values for the affected days have also been updated to reflect the new overnight stop location.

As you can see the previous stopping point is still highlighted as a section, but this is used only to maintain the integrity of the route and does not affect the overall route output.
Step 8
Repeat the above steps for each overnight stop location that you wish to change.
