About Canal Planner
In Canal Planner version 7 there are a number of ways of creating your route. You can either build your route manually, or by selecting a start and end location and letting Canal Planner calculate the quickest route, or let Canal Planner tells you how far you can get by selecting a start location and length of cruise.
Canal Planner will calculate the time required to complete your journey, as well as the distance and number of locks.
Canal Planner 7 also introduces maps for the first time. Maps are illustrative and have locations, boatyards, pubs and attractions highlighted on them. In order to provide users will full maps we have utilised Google mapping.

Included in version 7 of Canal Planner is an Update Wizard which allows us to easily distribute updates to the software and data. Updates will also be available bi-annually on CD
Canal Planner 7 has a database of 165 navigable canals, rivers and drains, and over 9,000 individual location points and associated features (such as water points, sanitary stations and supermarkets amongst others) and over 6,000 photographs. In addition to the locations database, there are comprehensive database of boatyards, pubs and applications.
